And It Is Good

The feeling of procrastination that sets in when it’s time to gather the Christmas decorations from around the house and put them away each year is one many of us share!

The joy of the season has been upon us and the anticipation of Christmas Day has come and past. But the anticipation of putting things away somehow lingers. Or at least it does for me.

It is as if somehow the anticipation prolongs the season just a bit. And I like to savor every feeling of excitement from Christmas I can. I know this season is special to me because of the memories we make as a family: getting out the decorations, putting lights on the house, baking cookies and sweet treats, crafting ornaments and garlands and such, reading great stores, contemplating the Names of Jesus and studying about Advent. And this season was extra special because those memories were shared with family despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

Reading is a virtue.
We enjoyed cuddling up and reading many days together; it is one of the best ways to learn. Special thanks to PamBarnhill.com for both of the Morning Time Plans.
Cherish loves to craft and this creation was special as we listened to Handel’s Messiah, “Glory to God in the Highest” and read The Christmas Angel.

However, as the ornaments are taken off one by one and the garland is gathered and all of the decorations are repackaged for storage, I find myself pausing for just one more moment...

A moment to savor the anticipation of many more memories to come; both traditional ones and new ones, too! And in one deep breath, I can exhale and now say, “And it is good!”
